Roundtable Hold Guide (2024)

Roundtable Hold Guide (1)

Welcome to the Roundtable Hold Guide for Elden Ring. This guide covers the most important figures living in Roundtable Hold and what they can do for you. Of note, this guide is primarily about NPC functions and does not cover the various characters that make brief storyline appearances in the hold. If you don't have access to the hold yet check out our Beginner's Guide and Path to Power Guide. Once unlocked, you can visit the Roundtable Hold any time you can Fast Travel.

Smithing Master Hewg

Roundtable Hold Guide (2)

Functionally the most important denizen of Roundtable Hold, Master Hewg is in charge of your armaments. He upgrades regular or special weapons given Smithing Stones of the proper quality and Runes. Alongside upgrading, you can swap Ashes of War with him to change the Weapon Art of regular weapons. He also duplicates any Ash of War you have provided you bring him a Lost Ash of War. He is always found at his anvil on the southeast side of the hold.

Roderika

Roundtable Hold Guide (3)

Roderika is originally encountered at the Stormhill Shack in Limgrave, and can be met once again by the central fireplace in Roundtable Hold after defeating Godrick in Stormwind Castle. After some back and forth speaking with Roderika and Master Hewg she is taught the art of Spirit Tuning. Once Roderika learns the technique, she moves into the same room as Master Hewg. She is able to upgrade Spirit Ashes you collect out in the world when provided the right quality of Glovewort (a plant found in catacombs) alongside Runes.

The Two Fingers

Roundtable Hold Guide (4)

The Two Fingers are accessible only after acquiring a Great Rune (obtained easiest from Godrick in Stormwind Castle) and can be found behind the large doors of Roundtable Hold's main room. They speak through Finger Reader Enia who gives you access to weapons created from the Remembrances of powerful bosses. Enia also provides a selection of special armor upon the defeat of certain major bosses, so return occasionally for unique gear.

Gideon Ofnir, The All Knowing

Roundtable Hold Guide (5)

Gideon can be met on your first visit to Roundtable Hold in the main room but moves to his study opposite Master Hewg if you've rested since then. While not a vendor in the traditional sense, Gideon offers information to locate Great Runes after you've collected one. He also provides rewards should you find certain areas or defeat hidden bosses. This is useful for players needing some direction on what to do next.

Notable Minor Characters of Roundtable Hold

Brother Corhyn

Brother Corhyn is initially found in the center of Roundtable Hold where he teaches basic incantations to the player. While very useful for grabbing Catch Flame if you didn't start as the Prophet class it is not advised to give Brother Corhyn any Prayerbooks to learn further incantations. Brother Corhyn leaves the hold on his quest early in the game and would need to be hunted down to access incantations in a Prayerbook you gave him prior. There is a resident of the Church of Vows [Map Link] in Liurnia who does not travel and is a permanent fixture of the church you should give Prayerbooks to instead.

Roundtable Hold Guide (6)

Fia

Fia resides in the bedroom behind Master Hewg offering hugs in exchange for an item named Baldachin's Blessing. Baldachin's Blessing is a cursed item that lowers your HP by 5% when held in your inventory but can be used to remove the curse and gain a useless buff temporarily. Fia is more of a quest character than a vendor of any use.

Roundtable Hold Guide (7)

D, Hunter of the Dead

D is met by most players in the main room of the Roundtable Hold. If the player presents a Deathroot (Boss drop) to D he gives you a short quest to meet Gurranq after which he becomes a vendor for a few Incantations.

Roundtable Hold Guide (8)

Nepheli Loux

Nepheli is found early in the game outside her adoptive father Gideon's study. Once you have defeated Godrick, she awards you the Arsenal Charm. This is an excellent early charm that increases your max equip load by 15%.

Items inside the Roundtable Hold

In addition to the various characters in the hold there are a number of items to collect.

  • The first two of these items require three Stonesword Keys to unlock to the Imp Statues down the stairs next to Master Hewg. The Crepus's Black Key Crossbow is found in a chest behind the first Imp Statue and the Assassin's Prayerbook is found beyond the second.
  • The other item worth grabbing is found after jumping off the balcony directly opposite the Two Fingers (pictured below). Upon landing, you trigger a fight with an invading spirit Mad Tongue Alberich. Once defeated you can explore the lower floor to find the Cipher Pata; an excellent weapon for pure Faith characters.
